Escape Haven, Soulshine Wellness Retreats In Bali Expand
With Bali well and truly back to business, wellness retreats are in demand.
Janine Hall, who's had a wellness travel business in Bali for more than 10 years, says bookings at her women-only wellness sanctuary, Escape Haven in Canggu, are booming. That's great news for her, considering she has expanded Escape Haven significantly. So much, in fact, she's calling it completely new.
"Despite all of the odds being stacked up against me, I knew that this new wellness sanctuary would be a haven for women to come when the pandemic ended," Hall says. "It would be a space to relax, restore and recharge after facing so much stress, trauma and transition over the past two years."
The expansion of Escape Haven's original Bali retreat has new facilities including a saltwater lagoon-style pool accompanied by a built-in fire pit and swim-up juice bar. There's also an infrared sauna, ice plunge pool and eight-seat jacuzzi, and stays include unlimited spa treatments in the tariff.
New suites are "inspired by different Balinese goddesses" and include many luxury touches.
Meanwhile, US musician Michael Franti and wife Sara Agah Franti have also expanded Soulshine Bali, the wellness retreat they founded a decade ago, doubling it in size.
The Ubud property now features three pools, two restaurants, a new full-service spa, two yoga shala or event spaces along with 33 rooms, 17 of which are the new suites.
These feature in-room "maxi bars", terrazzo tubs and befitting their indie rock pedigree, Marley record players, Marshall speakers and access to a vinyl record library.
Soulshine Bali caters for families with a two-bedroom Stay Human Suite, offering connecting rooms with private terrace and outdoor lounge.
The Soulshine Villa on the fourth floor has its own kitchen, plunge pool and infrared sauna.
Soulshine Bali also hosts retreats themed around yoga, pilates, dance, writing, photography and corporate leadership. The signature retreat, The Soulrocker Music Experience, is hosted by the owners.
