Travel Returns To Normal At Manchester Airport After Week Of Southwest Cancellation

After more than a week of disastrous holiday travel, Southwest Airlines said Friday that flights were returning to a normal schedule.
At Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, there were no cancellations listed Friday morning. Travelers said they had no problems with their flights.
Sign up for our Newsletters"We were planning a ski trip, a ski vacation, so we weren't sure if we were going to make it," said Southwest Airlines passenger Jennifer Roberts.
Roberts said that she, her husband and her three children flew into Manchester airport from Baltimore after a holiday travel meltdown caused cancellations and delays for hundreds of thousands of people flying Southwest nationwide.
But the airline said conditions should improve Friday, and the Roberts said they had no problems.
"Nothing at all. Smooth sailing," Brett Roberts said. "We were expecting a graveyard of luggage in the airport, but there was nothing."
Passenger Hugh McMurray flew in from Minnesota to meet up with friends for the Winter Classic NHL game at Fenway Park.
"Pretty normal, honestly," he said. "I was kind of surprised that things didn't go crazy, but I'm glad."
Airport officials said there were cancellations Thursday, but flights were coming in on time Friday.
