The Buzz: A New Bubble Tea And Coffee Shop Opens On Appleton's North Side
APPLETON – A new shop serving boba tea — also known as bubble tea or pearl milk tea — has opened on Appleton's north side.
Boba House & Coffee, 420 E. Northland Ave., held a soft opening Jan. 9 and a grand opening Feb. 2.
The shop, which is owned and operated by married couple Dao Xiong and Mina Syvang, serves boba tea, smoothies, and coffee drinks with doughnuts, spring rolls and banh mi.
Xiong said he wanted Boba House & Coffee to serve both smoothies and milk tea, rather than focusing on just one kind of drink over the other. There are more than 30 different drink flavors listed on the shop's menu, along with several different kinds of jelly and tapioca pearls. Some kinds of bubble tea are even served hot.
Xiong, who has lived in the Fox Valley for 30 years, said he and Syvang have always wanted to own their own business. He hopes the shop becomes a gathering place to "sit and chat, do homework or have a meeting," he said, as well as serving drinks to go.
Boba House & Coffee is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Find more information see the full menu online by searching for "Boba House & Coffee" on Facebook.
